Early Childhood Program

Mile Square Early Learning Center, a private preschool program, has a partnership with the Hoboken Public Schools Early Childhood Program to offer state funded full-day preschool to qualifying 3 and 4 year old Hoboken residents.  For over twenty five (25) years, our programs have been developing and implementing a high-quality researched based curriculum for pre-kindergarteners that is strongly rooted in ‘best practices’ for the education of children under the age of 5.   

The Hoboken Early Childhood PreK-3 & PreK-4 Program is eligible to children who turn 3 years old or 4 years old by September 30th of the current school year.  Our classrooms consist of a Certified Teacher and a Teacher’s Assistant serving a maximum of 15 students per classroom.  Our research based curriculum, Tools of The Mind, focuses on helping young children to develop the cognitive, social-emotional, self-regulatory, and foundational academic skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

In conjunction with a full academic school day 8:30am - 2:30pm (6 hour day), Mile Square also offers extended service hours known as Wrap Around Services at each of their sites. In addition to Wrap Around Services, we offer a full day Summer Program from the end of June to mid-August.
